Over the past two weeks, we have been learning many different reading comprehension strategies. One of the strategies that we have really focused on is visualization. This strategy helps us practice incorporating the 5 senses into our writing. So we brainstormed some fun and descriptive fall-themed activities. Then we broke off into groups and selected an idea. We came up with: Dia de los Muertos, Trick-or-Treating, Fall Foliage, Pumpkin Carving, and Applie Picking. We then used sticky notes to come up with as many descriptors as we could for each idea. The pictures below show the kids organizing their stickies into a story or a poem that incorporates the 5 senses. Can't wait to post the final products!
